I wrote this song in 2002 for my brother and sister-in-law while they were in Iraq.

Today I thought of those good times
So many years have passed
But it seems like yesterday
We're all on our own now
So little time for memories
But you're always in mine

And every time we meet here
I forget to tell you we're all so proud of you

And you know I'm thinking of you
As the battle rages on
The same stars are out there
Wherever you are
And you know I'll dream here for you
Until you're back home
It can't be for that long
Until it feels like yesterday

I wonder where you are going
And what you have to do
Until the duty is done
All our hearts go there with you
And all our prayers are for you
To find us again

And if I stand up and shout now
I hope you can hear my voice over everybody else
