                                            Ghazal 21


Persian:  Aey shehsawar narm tarak raan samand ra
              Bin zaer e paay dida e in mustamand ra
Urdu:      Aey shshsawar khainch inan e samand ko
              Yun ker na paimal dil e mustamamd ko

English:=== Your ladyship, ride not so rough in the infantry of lovers
                  For they have come to worship you; they want from you no favors
                                                    -

Persian:  Sarv e buland ra narasad dast bar sarat
              In dast kay rasad ba to sarv e buland ra
Urdu:      Kotah diya tha hath mujhay isqadar keh maen
              Chhu bhee saka naheen teray sarv e buland ko

English:=== You are like a cypress tree, so tall, so slim, so trim
                  So when they try to look at you, do not you be so grim
                                                        -

Persian:  Paay guraizam az shikan e gaisoo e to neest
              Mekush chunan keh khahi asir e kamand ra
Urdu:      Khush jub hay qayd e zulf e pareshan maen dil mera
              Kas kay na bandh itna asir e kamand ko

English:=== Your eyes are full of mystical flair; your curly hair a snare
                  But if they want to sit and stare don't tell them - don't you dare!

Persian:  Pand e kasam ba dil na nasheenad keh dil zay shouq   
              Pur shud chunan keh jaay namandast pand ra
Urdu:      Waiz bhara hay shouq say dil isqadar mera
              Milti zara bhee is maen jagah hay na pand ko

English:=== And do not try advising them, and tell them to go away
                  For they're in love, and counsel such will have on them no sway

Persian:  Dar aashiqi malamat e KHUSRO bawad chunak
              Bar raesh e taza dagh nahi daedmand ra
Urdu:      Kertay haen youn malamat e KHUSRO keh dambadam
              Daitay haen zakhm e taza dil e dardmand ko

English:=== And KHUSRO is, like the rest of them, so much in love with you
                  So hurt him not you anymore whenever he comes to woo
