An Angel Sighs
Beyond torn curtains, daylight crept, and colored darkness while she slept, waking memories, dearly kept. For them she wept, for them she wept. Through misty panes, her sad eyes stare. She breathes the silent, lonely air. Another day, they aren't aware, she dreams they care, she dreams they care. Her face, a sketch of eighty years, is drawn with anguish, joy and fears. But deeper yet, a heart sheds tears as her end nears, as her end nears. With salvaged heart and weary eyes, a ghostly figure joins the skies. Now, too late, her family cries. An angel sighs, an angel sighs.
