There are those who think we need to feed
On men or beasts to live or thrive, To suck their lives to maintain our own. Not so. We live whether we will or no, Sustained by something mystical Beyond even our own understanding. It is power we seek, control we need To make our living death to seem alive. With each new death our power has grown. On earth each land is ours, although Few know our minions rule and heed our call To war and strife – all our commanding. Your pains – our joys! Your lives we rule. No girls or boys Learn that in school! One thing only do we fear Not stakes or garlic coming near One thing only can defeat us One power alone can ever meet us. Our powers never could you move If ever you would learn to love.
