Each Other
Can we learn to tolerate and respect each other?

Each Other

You are you and I me and we see
we are of each other yet unique
in this incomprehensible universe
of global reasoning that careens
out of perspective in reflective
thoughts that transition beyond
our grand otherworldly pursuits
right back to the here and now
right back to our mere existence
a tiny speck in the vastness
of this infernal eternal reality.

Through reasoning we cannot
ever define or confine God
nor this ignoble pain that remains
in the depth of our souls
that craves a higher connection.
We cannot measure to ourselves
any of the secret treasures
of the wonders of life
nor explain to ourselves
why a placid town is shattered
by tornadoes and people die.

But will we ever open our eyes
will we ever individually realize
that we being both humanity begs us
to decry the insanity and recognize
that we only kill each other
when we are each other no more?
