Keeper of my Heart
Rated: E | Poetry | Romance/Love | #1328574
About my boyfriend and our struggle with my depression.
Across the space I run to you
Kicking, fighting, screaming, biting.
Your arms wrap hard around me
Soothing, holding, sometimes scolding.

It’s you that bares my pain the most
Willing, daring, teasing, caring.
And you carry it along with your own
Seeking, finding. Your love? Blinding.

Without you I have nothing left
Fading, leaving, sinking, grieving.
I cannot fight without your strength
Failing, falling, to you calling.

My heart is there for you to have
Waiting, fearing, loving, cheering.
And you take care of it each day
Adoring, clinging. My heart’s singing.

Without you life would not suffice
Hurting, boring, feeling abhorring
You are the love of my world
Completing, filling, utterly stilling

You keep me sane each time I slip
Reasoning, speaking, grasping, seeking.
Without you I just couldn’t be
Saving, playing. Are you staying?
