I can't believe its already Autumn!

The Death of Summer

The clock ticks to midday,
and as I look out the window
my heart frowns;

I see the playgrounds where
once played the young,
the massive oaks
where leaves once hung—

Things of the past now,
because summer
has faded into a cold,
dreary
fall.
