The End of Love

Why did we allow our love to end?
Which emotion did we fear show?
Was it the fear of encompassing walls,
That would not allow us to grow?

Do we not know that fear exists not,
But only the fearful thought,
Do we not know that strength conquers fear,
Is this not knowledge self taught?

Why did we allow our love to end,
Only to cause such great pain?
If we’ve not learned the lesson of love,
The challenge will face us again.
