NEEDS
I need to feel the sands of summer underneath my feet. The fiery sun falls slowly, the horizon yet to meet. I need to lie in tall, cool grass, watching the blue sky, Billowing, big white clouds seem to dance right by. I need to gaze in wonder at the canyons and their tales I need to watch and smile as puppies wag their tails. I need to find the time to celebrate, oh so many things. The least of which is finding happy songs to sing. I need to sing the special songs that make me feel so good. I need to share, with the world, so all is understood. The sound of children’s laughter, this I need to share. Spread good-will, compassion, life’s perfect love affair. I need to watch in wonder as butterflies take flight, And to entertain the thought that one day I might. I need to count my blessings as every one should do. I need to thank the heavens as needy people do. Doug Mcconnell
