How Am I Like Martha Stewart?

Martha Stewart. I love the woman. She has her own empire and she has it all. Being in prison and getting out made her more powerful. I have been thinking about the ways that I am like her and the ways I am not. Let's get started.

Martha loves to cook and has all these wonderful recipes. I am not a good cook and I am not like Martha in this respect. My cakes came out of a box and I make my spaghetti in the Crock Pot. I don't chop up ingredients much. I was making vegetable soup in the Crock Pot and I cut up an onion and cut mt finger. I had to call my father-in-law to take me to the hospital to get stitches. This isn't the first time I cut myself but this was the only time that I needed stitches. So, I won't be having my own cooking show anytime soon. My mother and I did bake a pumpkin cake that was in Country Living last year and it looked like a pumpkin when we got done It had orange frosting with a green stem made out of frosting. Martha would have been proud.

I signed up at Country Living a month ago to make new friends and hopefully get tips on scrapbooking, planting flowers and decorating my house. No one has responded. I logged on to the Martha Stewart Web Site and she has everything from Weddings, to Cooking{Not for me!}, Halloween Decorating and I can hardly wait to see her Christmas Decorating ideas!

I loved Martha's shows about scrapbooking. I am a Creative Scrapbook Designer and I learned a lot about scrap booking that week. I went to Michael's and bought her punches, albums, embellishments and she picks out the best for her scrap book supplies! Right on, Martha! In a special addition of Martha Stewart Living, she made her attic into a Crafts Room. Beautiful and so well organized. I have a Doll Room and I am going to take part of the room and get a cabinet for all my scrap booking supplies. My husband said he would help me.

Martha has some great cleaning methods. I am a spotless housekeeper. I am not bragging. I just love a clean house and work on it. I won't live in a dirty house!

I love Christmas. I decorate my house for Christmas and I hope to make some Christmas goodies. {I don't cook much but I do love baking. I feel safer when I bake!} My mother helps me wrap presents and I wrap my own as well. Martha has some neat ideas for that, too. I decorate my white tree with lavender and purple ornaments and Hallmark ornaments but I don't think Martha would frown on that. I love the ornaments she makes and I think I will make some of the ones she has made on her past shows.

I love animals like Martha does. I have a gray, stripped Tabby cat and I would love to start my own animal rescue center someday.

I can't wait to see Martha's items being sold at Macy's like her dishes, bed and bath linens. You know it will be some nice stuff. I like using pretty kitchen and bath linen.

Flowers. I don't have indoor plants but I love growing Sweet Williams, Pansies and flowers outside. I baby them and I hate when they die in the winter but they are summer plants. I love putting pumpkins outside and I leave them out until the middle of November. I get white ones like Martha does{She shows them on her show} along with the traditional orange ones.

I think that I have covered everything in the ways that I am like Martha. I admire her and I think that she is happy with her life. She will go down in history as a very important woman. Makes you wonder. Is there anything Martha can't do? Maybe she could run for President! I would vote for her! I don't think Martha does much writing but she doesn't have time for that. I hope that you love Martha like I do and maybe you can write an item on how you are like her. I would love to hear from you.
