English & Urdu Translation of Hafiz 12

                                            Ghazal 12


Persian:  Saba ba lutf bagoo an ghizal e raana ra
              Keh sar ba koh o biyaban to dadaie ma ra
Urdu:      Saba too ja kay bata us ghizal e raana ko
              Keh phirta chhanta aashiq hay khak e sehra ko

English:=== O breeze, you go to my little doe, and very humbly say
                  "Looking for you in the wilderness I have totally lost my way
                                                      -

Persian:  Ba shukr e an keh toie badshah e kishwar e husn
              Ba yaad aar ghariban e dusht o sehra ra
Urdu:      Aey shah e kishwar e khoobi, aey malka e khooban
              Na bhool apnay ghariban e dasht o sehra ko

English:=== "O beauty queen of the universe, O fairest of the fair
                  What happens to me, the hapless one, you have to also care
                                                      -

Persian:  Shakarfarosh keh umrash daraaz baad, chira
              Tafaqquday nakunad tooti e shakerkha ra   
Urdu:      Shakerfarosh tujhay pur shaker laboun ki qasam
              Chakha zara see shakar tooti e shakarkha ko

English:=== "O sugary one, your juicy lips with the vintage ruby wine
                  Resist I can't the urge to kiss; to me they are divine

Persian:  Gharoor e husn ijazat agar nadad aey gul
              Keh pursishay nakuni andaleeb e shaida ra
Urdu:      Gharoor e husn rawa hay tujhay magar aey gul
              Kabhee toe poochh lay is andaleeb e shaida ko

English:=== "O you're like a budding flower, so young, so full of pride
                  Like nightingale I sing to you; me don't you please deride

Persian:  Ba husn e khulq tawan kard said e ahl e nazar
              Ba daam o dana nageerand murgh e dana ra
Urdu:      Nigah e naz say hota hay said e ahl e nazar
              Ba daam o dana pakariay na murgh e dana ko 

English:=== "And all you need is kindness and a lock of curly hair
                  To catch a really wise one you do not need a snare

Persian:  Chun ba habib nashini o baada paymaie
              Ba yaad aar harifan e baadpayma ra 
Urdu:      Too bazm e ghair maen kerta hay baada paymaie
              Na bhool apnay harifan e baadpayma ko

English:=== "And when you sit with your chosen one, and drink in the moonlit night
                  Do think of me who loves you so, and who isn't so very bright"

Persian:  Nadanam az cheh sabab rang e aashnai neest
              Sahiqadan e siyah chashm o mahseema ra
Urdu:      Khudaya kun na diya rang e aashnai bhee
              Sahiqadan e siyah chashm o mahseema ko

English:=== But those who like them tall and fair with beautiful brown eyes
                  They should expect no loyalty from them if they are wise
                                                          -

Persian:  Juz in qadae natawan guft dar jamal e to aeb
              Keh khal e mehr o wafa neest roo e zaiba ra
Urdu:      Na rehta aeb zara sa bhee husn maen, milta
              Jo khal e mehr o wafa taeray roo e zaiba ko

English:=== If there is a flaw in a perfect beauty it's not conceit or pride
                  Fidelity is what they sadly lack ; it cannot be denied

Persian:  Dar aasman cheh aajab gar zay gufta e HAFIZ
              Sama e Zohra ba raqs awurad Maseeha ra
Urdu:      Kalam e HAFIZ e Shiraz aarsh maen sun ker
              Sama e Zohra karay wajd maen Maseeha ko

English:=== A loser you are in love, HAFIZ, but your verses have a ring
                  On hearing them does Jupiter dance, and Venus begins to sing
