Dear God

Dear God give us strength to do things that are right
give us courage in our lives, teach all not to fight
give us wisdom for our children to practice each day
teach us to be like Jesus in each and every way

Dear God help us not to be jealous of others
help children respect their fathers and their mothers
help us bite our tongues when words need not be spoken
help us to never tell a lie and keep our promises unbroken

Dear God show us how to keep our earthly bodies pure
keep us free from addictions and any other sinful lure
give us the knowledge to remember to kneel down and pray
not only when we need you but each and every day

Dear God let us not use your name in vain
when bitter words enter our minds help us to refrain
give us strength to withstand the devils temptations
give us peace in our homes and all through the nations

Dear God I do thank you for the miracles I've seen
I thank you for giving me a life so serene
thank you for the gift of family and friends
thank you for your love that never ever ends
