GOING HOME
His light grows ever dimmer, One day soon it will go out, ‘Cause time gets only slimmer, That’s what life is all about. ~ It looks like a long highway, In the years when you are young But youth with you will not stay, It’s a song too short when sung. ~ Shorter, it seems days have grown, And they pass him swiftly by, Good times and bad he has known, Changing he’d not think to try. ~ He knows the next road he walks, He’ll not travel all alone, It’s with God, each night he talks, In His house he will be home. 10/12/07 ![]() ABAB, 7 syllable scheme.
