Pride In Poetry Prize Contest Winners

"NavWorks Press: Pride In Poetry Prize

All poems listed here will be published in the Prize Anthology due out this winter. There were a total of 52 winners. The winners were broken down as follows: First Tier Top 20, Second Tier Next 32. In addition to the contest winners, there were 22 Honorable Mentions chosen for publication.

The First Tier Top 20 winners are listed in ranked order according to how they placed, and the Second Tier Next 32 winners were NOT ranked, all winners in the Second Tier equally share 1st place in that tier.

The 52 winners will all receive a free copy of the anthology when it is published and be able to purchase additional copies at a prime publisher's discount price directly from NavWorks Press.

The top two winners will receive their monetary awards within two to three weeks.

The third place winner will receive five free copies of the anthology when it is published.

The Honorable Mentions will all be published in the anthology and will be able to purchase the anthology at a regular publisher's discount directly from NavWorks Press.

In addition to listing the winners in the format noted above, we decided to list the top 12 poems ranked by each of the four judges to show how the top 20 winners were derived.

The top twenty positions were derived using a weighted average formula based on judging qualifications and editorial input with the lowest score thrown out. Poems were evaluated based on their overall quality and impact, use of poetic technique, internal consistency, emotional impact, intellectual impact, inspirational impact, originality, and use of language.
