                                            Ghazal 27


Persian:  Chun dar chaman rawi az khanda lub maband anja
              Keh ta digar nakunad ghuncha zehrkhand anja
Urdu:      Hans aa kay bagh maen, rakh apnay lub na band wahan
              Karay na ta keh koie ghuncha zehrkhand wahan

English:=== When in the garden, do smile, my dear
                  Don't give the flowers a chance to sneer
                                                    -

Persian:  Kasan ba kooay to pandam dehand o dar jaay
              Keh deeda roo e to beenad, cheh ja e pand anja
Urdu:      Hazaar daetay naseehat haen waizan mujh ko
              Jo dil maen too ho toe kaisay ho ja e pand wahan

English:=== Many a preachers thinks love is a vice
                  I have no use for such an advice
                                                  -

Persian:  Ba khana e to hama rooz bamdad bawad
              Keh aafab niaarad shudan buland anja
Urdu:      Mudam bam peh rehti bandad teray
              Keh ho sakay hay na sooraj kabhee buland wahan

                  It's so high, there the sun can't rise

Persian:  Ba shana shust e to mebaft zulf chu zangeer
              Mageer sakht keh deevana aest chand anja
Urdu:      Bana kay zulf say lay ja daraaz zangeeraen
              Keh mujh say aur haen deevanaha e chand wahan

English:=== Braid your hair and make it a chain
                  Because your lovers are all insane

Persian:  Kuja rawam keh zay koo e to her kuja keh rawam
              Rasad zay jaad e kamendat kham e kamend anja
Urdu:      Ho qaed maen kissay koo e butan say aazadi
              Keh paech e zulf maen haen ja ba ja kamend wahan

English:=== To catch your lovers you make the snare
                  Of your golden tresses and curly hair

Persian:  Zay zulf aamadi aey baad haal e dilha cheest
              Chehgoona and aseeran e mustamand anja
Urdu;      Too aaie zulf say ho ker hay aey saba batla
              Keh kis tarheh haen aseeran e mutamand wahan

                  Lest them it frees keep out the air

Persian:  Bar aastan e to harkas ba rehmatay makhsoos
              Magar keh KHUSRAW e baychara dardmand anja
Urdu:      Karam hay taera faqeeran e aastan pah, walay
              Na koie surat e KHUSRO hay dardmand wahan
