This sonnet is about my cat Spot.
As I write this he is eight years old
I've had him since he was two-months-old.
Now this cat is just plain mean I tell you
He ain't got a nice bone in his body
Come too close and he'll swat at you.
When really mad, on the rug he'll potty!
His eyes are evil, he growls when he purrs
He hates his water, he hates his food
He acts as though his fur were full of burrs!
This poor cat is always in a bad mood.
I've had this cat almost all of his life
and we've been together through thick and thin.
Through all of the good times, through toil and strife!
But he just won't change, too thick is his skin.
I just can't help it, please, don't blame me
I love him, I just don't like him! You see?
