Placed = 2nd in Dr M C Gupta 's Rhyme - Rhythm Contest.  A Ghazal.

Last Night

I watched the sun set last night,
just after we met, last night

Then darkness drew its curtain,
turned the sky to jet, last night.

The stars in all their glory,
glittered in velvet, last night.

An evening made for loving,
appetites were wet last night.

Just one glance was all it took.
Sue did not regret last night

Syllables 7-7
Refrain - 'last night'
Rhyme - set, met, jet, velvet, wet, regret.
