You were a symbol honoring Life,
A statue scorning Death.
Formaldehyde Rivers flowing through your veins,
A sewn-on smile,
Peach Pigment to enhance tone.
A New Age masterpiece
Saying,
“Look, I live!”
Saying,
“Look, I see!”
Saying
“Look!…Look…look….
At me.”
You didn’t live
And as you were lowered,
As you hugged the satin lining of your new box,
As darkness stole your sight,
As Earth became your air,
You whispered
“I am dead”
And you were…
All was…
This is…
Done.
