First Year Anniversary Poem
A poem I wrote for my daughter and son-in-law for their first anniversary, Oct. 21, 2007

It seems like yesterday you said,
“I can’t wait a moment more!”
And here a year has come and gone,
And how your spirits soar!

A year to love, a year to learn, a year to grow as one
A year to weave love’s cloth anew, a year that now is done.
And as this new year starts afresh, with hopes and dreams to cherish,
You read love in each other’s eyes, a love that will ne’er perish

Chad, look into her soft brown eyes and love her every day
And Heather, take his hand in yours and let him lead the way
Draw upon each other’s strengths to make yourselves complete
And with each passing day you’ll find your love will be replete
