Doves A lonesome dove coos softly, looking for a mate. How soft and sweet the sound, the melody it makes. Oh, your song of longing, cuts deep into my heart. Looking for a soul to share, who would never part. A gentle rain starts falling, as soft coos keep calling. Sing, my dove, sing with love, sing with all your heart. And now I hear a distant sound, as if an echo rings. This strange duet and haunting beauty that it brings. These doves unseen, seem to be, oh so very near. Their song of love has become, a testament so dear For the love, so sweet, has come to them by song. Tomorrow’s bright horizon, beckons with new songs. Listen to the songs they sing, so sweet and all too true. Two doves, one song, they carry on, a lilting pale of blue. Let each of us remember, from all the lonesome doves, Those who believe and persevere, for that perfect love. When you feel so all alone as these two doves did, too. Pray, stay your course my dove, someone's there for you. Doug Mcconnell
