Don't Eat The Pumpkin Pie

While walking in the park one eve
A curious spectacle - did my eyes deceive?
A jack-o-lantern big and bold
I could not believe what I did behold.

It grew there in this unusual tree
A tree that no other ever did see
The tree was filled with bats and witches
And goblins waving hickory switches.

My heart leapt to my throat in dread
The sweat poured from my fevered head
I fell to my knees and prayed to the unknown
When I looked again the tree had grown.

The jack-o-lantern spread his mocking jaws
And came at me with witches claws
I closed my eyes and prayed for my soul
Just then the pumpkin swallowed me whole.

Now every pumpkin that you pick
Will deliver to you a little a trick
My DNA will spread in you
And you will become a bad poet too.
