                                            Ghazal 22


Pesrsian:  Bia keh qasr e amal sakht sust bunyad ast
                Biyar baada keh bunyad e umr barbaad ast
Urdu:        Zaif qasr e tammena ki hay bohat bunyad
                Pilao baada keh buyad e umr hay barbaad

English:=== Desire is a castle built in the air     
                  A heartbreak house, a place of despair
                                                -

Persian:  Ghulam e himmat e anam keh zaer e charkh e kabood
              Zay her cheh rang e taaluq pazeerad, azad ast
Urdu:      Ghulam e himmat e subhan bano keh ger banda
              Aseer e band e taaluq banay toe hay azad

English:=== O preacher, I know it sounds so silly
                  But the captive of love is truly free
                                                  -

Persian:  Naseehat e kunamat yaad gir or dar amal aar
              Keh in hadis zay peer e tareeqatam yaad ast
Urdu:      Hay tum ko gosh e naseehat toe baat maeri suno
              Keh pand e peer e tareeqat mujhay hay ab tak yaad

English;=== Listen to the old when they give advice
                  To ignore their counsel is not very wise
                                                    -

Persian:  Majoo durusti e ahd az jahan e sust nihad
              Keh in majooza uroos e hazaar damaad ast 
Urdu::      Na dhoondh naek nihadi jahan e batil maen
              Keh is majoosa kay shohar hazaar haen berbaad

English:=== Don't be allured by the worldly pleasure
                  This world is unfaithful by any measure

Persian:  Cheh gooyamat keh ba maykhana dosh mast o kharaab
              Saroosh e aalam e ghaebam cheh muzdaha dad ast
Urdu:      Kharaab o mast nujhay maykaday maen daikh kay kal
              Saroosh ghaeb nay yeh keh kay ker diya dil shaad

                  An angel came and said, " You punk!

Persian:  Keh aey buland nazar shahbaz e sidra nasheen
              Nashaeman e to na in kunj e mehnatabad ast
Urdu:      Keh aye buland nazar shahbaz e sidra nasheen
              Naheen hay gosha e rahat tera mohinabad

English:=== "What are you doing in this dusty dungeon,
                  You are an eagle you belong to Eden

Persian:  Tura zay kangara e aarsh meezanand safir
              Nadanamat keh dar in daamgah cheh uftaad ast
Urdu;      Tujhay toe kangara e aarsh daetay haen aawaz
              Bhala aziz tujhay kun hay daam e puruftaad

Persian:  Gham e jahan makhur o pand man mabur az yaad
              Keh in latifa e naghzam zay rehraway yaad ast
Urdu:      Gham e jahan na karo, baat kuchh suno maeri
              Keh aek soofi ki baataen haen khub mujh ko yaad

                  Listen to the mystic and be sincere

Persian:  Raza ba dada badeh waz jabeen girha baksha 
              Keh bar man o to dar e Ikhtiar nakshad ast
Urdu:      Raza e Rab pay ho razi, shikan jabeen pay na daal
              Na ho ga ham pay kabhee bab e ikhtiar kushad

English:=== "You have no choice, listen you clod!
                  Surrender your will to the will of God

Persian:  Nishaan e mehr o wafa neest dar tabassum e gul
              Banaal bulbul e miskeen keh jay e feryaad ast
Urdu:      Naheen tabasssum e gul maen koie nishan e wafa
              Baja hay bulbul e miskeen agar karay faryaad

                  The smiling flowers of spring don't last"

Persian:  Hasad cheh meeburi aey sustnazm bar HAFIZ
              Qabool e khatir o lutf e sukhan Khuda daad ast
Urdu;        Yeh sustnazm hasad kun karay haen HAFIZ say
                Keh haen yeh shohrat o lutf e sukhan Khuda ki daad
