Where Were You?
A poem about testing the limits of a relationship.

Where were you
when I needed love,
when I needed a shoulder,
or a touch of comfort?

Where were you
when I stormed and stomped,
when I cried in frustration,
when I didn't know what to do?

Where were you
when I threw up,
when I threw things,
when I gave up all?

Where were you
when I tossed you away,
when I gave up all hope,
when I felt all alone?

Where were you?
You were were right where you need to be:
right beside me.
