A Thing Of Nature
A poem on a thing of nature

Off in the distance
I can hear them rumbling
Spinning like the hands of time
Leaving the Earth in a blanket of darkness
Turning day into night.

Clouds swirl about like gauzy curtains
Fierce lightning scratches the horizon
A flickering dance of a phantom light
The smell of thunder hangs in the air
As birds join their lives to the sky.

Tears of the clouds pour down in blankets
While winds hiss and roar like dragons
Carrying objects quickly by
Haunting tones drift over the mountains
Banishing silence- forcing me to hide.
