PROLOGUE: A NEW BEGINNING
This device is here to present to you an abbreviated account of the events that led up to sending this hologram-based device to this time, and hopefully help you to make the decision this hologram will present upon the ending of this… true story. Lie back… starting 3-D reconstruction program through the virtual reality included within this device. Get yourself comfortable… this could take a while… It was the year 2346 A.D. Asia, Africa, and Australia united to become the United Continents of the Eastern Hemisphere. Afraid of the new power of the East U.C., North and South America and Europe became the Allied Nations of Earth. After a number of peaceful centuries, East U.C. found a resource that could revolutionize their weaponry. One of their greedy rulers decided to execute an attack, starting another World War. The result was destruction so devastating, that the population of 90% of the animal species except humans became extinct and about half of the humans on both sides was dying, dead or injured. The remaining humans somehow survived for another month, but none learned. No one, even from this great devastation, learned, and hatred still swept in their hearts. They each blamed the other side and wanted revenge. One side of the War, who knows which- maybe both, launched a full-scale nuclear assault. The radiation and pollution levels then where catastrophic, but now became even worse. The rate of death of humans became as high as 3 billion a day, maybe more. In addition to the death of 8 billion people from the assault, almost no humans were left. Some humans survived. Mutated by the pollution, they were stronger and smarter than usual. One of the survivors, a scientist, and his wife, were the only people left on the world with the secret knowledge of the technology that East U.C. found. They vowed never to use the technology or the technologies it lead to. But... they had 4 children Andre, Celeste, Ondre, and Nara. (I guess there was no one to make fun of them, so they could name them anything they liked.) Unlike their parents, the children never vowed not to and wanted to use the technology when an opportunity presented itself. Then their parents died from nuclear radiation, a common way of death, so the children took the knowledge that their parents had kept, and built a time machine and went back to before the war, the story of which they had heard of from their parents. They came with their story, and surprisingly, the humans believed them. Without the World War and the union of continents, humans lived on. The kids got married, had kids, and the knowledge of what could have happened was lost. 3 of them died. The last one, Celeste, vowed to continue the family line and made preparations for her child/children (not yet born, but due in 4 months) in case of her death. Satisfied, she never used her powers again. The secret was too much to bear alone, so she told her husband too. Exactly two years later Celeste and her husband’s bodies were found on the floor of their home. They were lying on the ground, covered in blood. On the wall it said, in bright red letters: The world is safe But for how long? 12 years from now a great Evil will reveal itself to the world It will threaten the lives of everyone of the planet Heroes will defend against it But they won’t stand long 8 years after, Doomsday will come The question is who Who will do the unspeakable? 20 years from now, our lives will be in the Evil’s hands But Good will always fight Evil; Light will always fight Dark Even within the very being of the Enemy The investigators and the human race were proud. What could harm them? Nuclear weapons became obsolete with the invention of nuclear shields a few years back. There haven’t been any wars in 3 centuries. Who would be strong enough to take on the huge armies of the world? Besides things like that only happen in books. Unknown to the investigators, when they had entered the room they activated a sensor that relayed commands to the hidden nursery where the 1 month old baby and the room where the 2 year old toddler was. Their cribs activated the nuclear-powered super accelerators that Celeste had built in. The GPS guided them through their garage door and down the street. Going 200 miles per hour, they quickly speeded to Celeste’s Friend’s Foster Home. When they were outside the home, the cribs were dismantled automatically and transformed into baskets. A white envelope appeared on the toddler’s blanket. Little wheels on the baskets propelled them up the handicapped ramp, landing smartly on the front doormat. A mechanical hand emerged from the basket and rang the doorbell. Meanwhile… After the investigators left, there was a tinkling sound as the bullets came out of the husband’s body. The wounds started to heal. He opened his eyes. PART 1: ORPHAN Chapter 1: FOSTER HOME It was 4:30 A.M. when foster mother Barbra Paterson, heard a knock on her door. Not again! , she thought drowsily and slowly trudged to the door. Out there on her doorstep was a baby with a note. Hmm. The note said: Dear Barbra, All I ask is that you take care of this baby and the other one that will be coming shortly. They will be very smart kids, so be careful. Wouldn’t want a secret organization of kids to take over the world would we? Your friend, Celeste Barbara didn’t like kids, not one bit. The reason she was a foster mother because her mother’s dying wish was that she would be one. Sigh. Man, I wish it wasn’t only the 2500 A.D., and was whatever time it was at Celeste’s old place. Though she made a good joke. Kids, taking over the world! Hah! But she would take care of the babies, and that’s all that mattered. Let me stop the story for a sec. If you haven’t realized it, that kid is me. Anyway, back to the story… To be continued...
