Why Me
This poem is written for the families who have lost loved ones over seas

I was walking down the road
When I came across my best friend
She was crying
When I asked her what was wrong
She just said "Why me
I don't understand
He didn't do anything wrong
Why did they take him from me"
I walked a little more
When a came across a little girl
When I asked her what was wrong
She just said "Why me
I don't understand
He didn't do anything wrong
Why did they take him from me"
There's a point to this tale
When you think the words
Why me
Because you failed a test
Or lost a game
Remember the story
Of a daughter and a mother
Who lost a father and a lover
Because he went to fight
For a cause not his own
Remember a father
Who won't meet his unborn son
Who won't meet his daughter's love
Remember the pain of a friend
As she realized her brother's life
Has come to an end
