Lost innocence
A poem comparing love to the seasons.

What happened?
Why did it all change?
We were happy
Safe in each others arms
Losing ourselves in dreams of the future
Like a flower blooming in spring
Our love grew and grew
Into a pure white rose
In the summer we laughed
Running free
Letting the sun wash over us
Bringing us to life
... But in autumn it all changed
Like the autumn sun
You were becoming cool and distant
No matter what I tried
You grew further away
In winter it died
The cruel, cold words, the lies
It was the winter frost creeping upon us
Writhering our rose
You took my innocence from me
You always said it was what you loved most about me
Now it belongs to you.
