                                                Perched
                                                  alone,
                                                shivering
                                            in the doorway.
                                      Hours and people pass
                                      him blindly, drooling on
                              'bout tomorrow’s gifts, meals and
                              endless delights. He summons his
                    own scarce mental gems; they warm his mind,
                          but shield not from final frozen slumber.
