My heart is a diamond,
Twinkling and glinting In an ivory cage. But when I first found out That you were in trouble The diamond became chipped. My heart is made of gold, It glows so warm and bright, Surrounded by crimson. But when I realised That you were gone forever The gold became tarnished. My heart is made of glass, Simple and transparent, More fragile with each beat. But now it has sunk in, The pain still hasn't gone And the cracks are still there.
