DIWALI
My dear friend, to you and all, As Diwali does enthrall, I send Diwali greetings Along with my queer musings. Every year this we do know, Diwali does come and go Only for those that are rich, Rather only with this glitch: Millions in Ram’s land do yet, On Diwali wail and fret For a morsel while the rich Squander wealth without a hitch. • Written in aabb, 7-7-7-7 format. * Diwali [Divali, Deepaavali] is the biggest annual festival in India, commemorating Lord Ram’s return to his kingdom, 10,000 years ago.
