                                            Ghazal 32


Persian:  Roozgariest keh soda e butan deen a man ast
              Gham e in kaar nishat e dil ghamgeen e man ast
Urdu:      Aek muddat say hay soda e butan deen mujhay
              Aur gham e ishq nishat e dil e ghamgeen mujhay

English:=== The love of beauties has become my creed
                  And having the pangs is a joy indeed
                                                    -

Persian:  Didan e roo e tura dida e jan meebayad
              Win kuja mertaba e chashm e jahan been e man ast
Urdu:      Chahiay hay teray didar ko ik dida e jan
              Per naheen mertaba e chashm e jahan been mujhay

English:===  Crying in her absence I've become blind
                    And her without sight I cannot find
                                                    -

Persian:  Ta mara ishq e to taalim e sukhan guftan kard
              Khalq ra wird e zaban madhat o tehseen e man ast
Urdu:      Ishq nay jab say sukhan goie mujhay bakhshi hay
              Sara daeta hay jahan madhat o tehseen mujhay

English:=== But it has also made me fluent and witty
                  And famous I am throughout the city

Persian:  Doulat e fuqr Khudaya ba man arzani dar
              Kin karamat sabbab e hushmat o tamkeen e man ast
Urdu:      Doulat e fuqr ki ya Rab mujhay arzani ho
              Ho faqeery kay sabbab hushmat o tamkeen mujhay

English:=== The wine of love is wonderful brew
                  For it has made me a mystic too

Persian:  Waiz e shehna shanaas in azzamat goo mafaroosh
              Zan keh manzil gah e sultan dil e miskeen e man ast
Urdu:      Daekh nafrat say na waiz keh diya hay Rab nay
              Aek manzil gah e sultan dil e miskeen mujhay 

English:=== So rich has become my poor little heart
                  Tell it you can't from a king apart

Persian:  Rasm e aashiq kushi o shaewa e shehr ashobi
              Kaar e an shokh e siyah charda e shireen mujhay
Urdu:      Rasm e ashiq kushi o shaewa a shehr ashobi
              La kay wo do rukh e namkeen, lab e shireen mujhay

English:=== Killing her lovers is her favorite sport
                  The dark little girl we all love to court

Persian:  Az keh daryagari aamokht khayal e to magar
              Rehnumayash shuda in ashk e chu perween e man ast
Urdu:      Hijr ki raat maen girtay rahay baarish ki terhah
              Wo maeray ashk kay motie jo haen perween mujhay

Persian:  Ya Rab in kaaba e maqsood ziyarat kah e keest
              Keh mugheelan e tareeqash gul o nasreen a man ast
Urdu:      Yeh haram konsa, yeh kis ki ziyarat gah hay
              Jis kay haen khaar e mugheelan gul o nasreen mujhay

English:=== When in her street I seek my abode
                  Like flowers become the thistles on road

Persian:  Yaar e ma baash keh zaeb e falak o zeenat e dehr
              Az mah e roo e to waz ashk chu perween e man ast
Urdu:      Kertay haen zaeb e falak, zeenat e dunya donoun
              Rukh jo mahtab tera, ashk jo perween mujhay 

English:  For the world of ours it is a boon
              My tears like stars, your face like moon
                                                        -

Persian:  HAFIZ az hashmat e pervaiz digar qissa makhan
              Keh labash juraakash e khusrav e shireen e man ast
Urdu;      Chhor yeh madhat e Pervaiz, suna aey HAFIZ
              Qissa e noosh e lab e khusrav e shireen mujhay
