                                              Ghazal 33


Persian:  Roo e to kas nadeed o hazarat raqeeb hast
              Dar ghunchaie humooz o sadat andaleeb hast
Urdu:      Daekhay baghaer tujh ko hazaroun raqeeb haen
              Ghuncha abhee khila naheen sad andaleeb haen

English:=== A darling unseen, with lovers in herds
                    A budding flower, with scores of birds
                                                    -

Persian:  Gar aamdam ba koo e to chandan ghareeb neest
              Chu man dar in dayaar hazaran ghareeb hast
Urdu:      Mujh sa yahaan pay koie gharib ul watan naheen
              Yun toe taeray watan maen hazaroun ghareeb haen

English:=== Not only am I who is so poor
                  Lovers has God, both cultured and boor
                                                      -

Persian:  Her chand dooram az to keh door az to kas mabad
              Laikin umeed e wasl e to am anqareeb hast
Urdu:      Furqat maen rotay, rotay qaraar aa gaya mujhay
              Lagta hay aisa wasl kay din kuchh qareeb haen

English:=== I have a feeling, it may be bizarre
                  My union with Him is not very far
                                                    -

Persian:  Dar ishq khanqa o kharabat shart neest
              Her ja keh hast pertou e roo e habeeb hast
Urdu:      Kuchh shart khanqa o kharabat ki naheen
              Her simt aks ha e jamal e habib haen

English:=== A temple, a mosque, pagoda, or church
                  Him you'll find wherever you search
                                                    -

Persian:  An ja keh kaar e somea ra jalwa meedahand
              Naqoos o daer o rahib o naam e saleeb hast
Urdu:      Her gah kaar o baar e ibadat maen jalwagar
              Naqoos o daer o rahib o naam e saleeb haen

English:=== An organ, a bell, a song, or a gong
                  In business of worship they all belong
                                                      -

Persian:  Aashiq keh shud keh yaar ba haalash nazar nakard
              Aey khaja dard neest wagarna tabeeb hast
Urdu:      Aashiq tha koun Haq ka jisay Haq na mil saka
              Kamyaab dard e dil hay bohat say tabeeb haen

English:=== The love of God is an ailment severe
                  There are no patients though Doctor is there
                                                      -

Persian:  Feryaad e HAFIZ in hama aakhir ba herza neest
              Ham qissa e ghareeb o hadees e ajeeb hast
Urdu:      Feryaad maen asar na ho kuin HAFIZA keh jab
              Too nadira sukhan, taeray qissay ajeeb haen

English:=== Your way of crying, O HAFIZ of mine
                  It rends my heart, but it's so divine
