Kids These Days!

“Can you believe the way children act today?”

We have all heard such comments from adults about the upcoming generation have we not? Yet, what about adults these days, and before we castigate the young around us perhaps we should ask ourselves what has made children so disrespectful as so many like to point out. Maybe we should point the finger back at ourselves and understand that children are a simple reproduction of ourselves in so many ways. When I was a child we feared the police. If I was in to some mischief I would run from an approaching perceived adversary with a badge! Nowadays, kids lift their finger of choice at them. Still, before we as “adults”; the understood responsible parties in the modern world, we need to look at what children are bombarded with in the present age.

In our intercity areas there are literally hundreds of thousands of children who are in this country as a result of their parents breaking the immigration laws of the land. They have grown up as outcasts and perceived ‘Illegals’ with only the illegal status of their parents as the examples to follow. What is one more fight, one more drink, and one more drug when they are doomed to be regarded at unproductive, unmanageable residents in a land that will never quite seem like their own? And then there is the question of who just they should follow as a role model.

Today, those who were once regarded as the examples for the youth of America to follow begrudge the title of role model. Those around us who should serve as the only real examples of good and fair play before a reprobate society refuse to lift the standard of examples for the young to emulate. In the last 10 years, the future generation of Americans has learned what oral sex was from the President of the United States at an age when such things should never enter into their vocabulary. They have witnessed the rise of Homosexuality and are challenged to partake of this lifestyle every day and are now taught by their schools that it is OK to be gay. They have seen the TV become a bastion of immorality where the idea of “Coming Out” has become a positive phrase and some kind of heroics instead of the sad epitaph that the phrase represents. Our kids have been taught that there is such a thing as safe sex and our daughters have been instructed that an unwanted baby is a thing to simply be discarded without so much a worry about what the parents may think because they need not know about it. Such young hearts are now being given birth control drugs without their parents consent; some as young as eleven years old. Our sons have been taught that the best advice for a pregnant girl friend is to find her a good abortion clinic. Whereas, in years gone by, churches that concerned themselves with preparing young minds with the faith of their fathers now must, quite rightly and necessarily, instruct their children against sex before marriage and about refusing the gay lifestyle. Our kids are taught that the slaughter of 37,000,000 babies is of no concern. They listened to the failing debate to save the life of one poor woman, Terri Schiavo whose only mistake was to believe that her fellow American would never betray her but who eventually condemned to an execution of starvation and dehydration ordered by the government of “We the people” simply because she was handicapped and in the way. The attack against our children does not begin to stop there.

Our children have the internet now to teach them everything from growing tomatoes to growing pot. They have seen everything at the youngest of ages on the net from ridicule and sexual perversion of the most bestial forms to the literal cutting of hostages’ heads. It is all there for young minds and young hearts to grow accustomed to and to grow hardened by. Our kids have seen the election process turned into the most expensive, most professional and most lethal form of wrestling that leaves them apathetic and ignorant as to why we really vote in this country. They have heard the President of the United States called a liar, killer of babies, deceitful and stupid, and often by their teachers in schools. Now, just recently, our kids have heard of athletes taking steroids and have witnessed probably the strongest role models in America burst into a crowd of fans and commence with the ugliest spectacle devoid of sportsmanship ever witnessed in this country.

So, whose fault is the rebellion, the ridicule, the lack of discipline in our kids after all? Perhaps we should look in the mirrors of our own hearts and see the pitiful reflection that looks back at us and then we may have a bit more mercy on the kids who only copy what they see and who only do what they are allowed to participate in.

In the bible, remember that book? It states that where much is given to a person in turn a lot will be expected from the person who received the blessings. In America, in contrast, where much is given, much more is demanded! The society that once bore one another’s burdens now regards others as burdens. The nation that once welcomed the masses of poor and seeking people to a new life is now forced to build walls and increase border patrols because of the threat of terrorists and evil-plotting men who hate all we regard as good. The Bible says, if a man’s ways please the Lord, He will make even that man’s enemies to be at peace with him. That principle is also applicable on the national scale. Goodness and mercy and honesty all exalt a nation but selfishness, lethargy, apathy and ignorance is a shame to any people. Even though we must fight and sacrifice so many of our young and many of our bravest to preserve this nation, the principle of the judgment does prevail upon us as a people.

It is easy to see that the really dangerous war that America is waging is the one at home which threatens to rip her apart. In a real way, America is waging a world war against Terrorism abroad and a civil war of traditional ideals of right and wrong and the moral deviancy of the liberal machine that rides rough shod over the rights of those who worship God. This is a war of the principles of Almighty God for a safe, sane and prosperous society to follow vs. the filthy politics that leaves nothing beyond the pale, homosexuals marriage, the legalization of Sodomy, the right to die groups, the Earth charter movement, which makes its way into the schools when it is clearly the new age religion of the immoral left, while the Bible is forbidden; Abortion on demand when new ultrasound photos clearly demonstrate that this procedure is a legal form of murder and Eco-Terrorists who want to destroy the property of others when they deem it as hazardous material all in the service of Mother Guya, Goddess of the Earth. It would all make great material in some futuristic novel of horror except it is not fiction but the reality that surrounds us now. This real war of the soul of America threatens to rip the heart out of our society and transform the nation into a new age Gomorrah that can only merit the wrath of God! There are some of us who believe in the word of God while supporting affirmative action and the union movement. We are out there, from both political parties who are against abortion while insisting on the care for the poor and the elderly, as well as the unborn. I refuse to be titled, but I will say that this great land of freedom risks greater damage from this war at home, which will render the war on terror undoable. While America so furiously devours herself, she battles Muslims abroad and Christians at home!

The fact is that our culture is in transition toward a reprobate society that has thrown away the ideals and principles which forged a land so great. Even now, we can see the evidence throughout the land. The fact that we constantly have to fend off terrorists who seek to kill our people is proof that God has withdrawn His hand of protection over us. The saddest part about it is that we have told Him to do so because we refuse to heed His call or even hear His voice. So, who is really to blame for the results of indulgence throughout the land? Are we to lament to fact that our kids are lost in the cyber spaced land of dizzy desire or should we look back at ourselves as adults and recapture the moment and take control and responsibility back into our hands. Our kids have but a short-lived window of opportunity to see parents and adults around them as good, wholesome people of faith, honor and pride. Then, perhaps we will have reason to complain at our children rather than criticizing them for acting just like us!
