Mother of the Bride

Today my smile is
Veiled in tears
As I remember
Long ago years.

Arms, once a cradle
Into the night
Prayers softly whispered
The ‘morrow bright.

Her first awkward steps
Reached out for me.
First words expressed
*I love my Mommy!*

My dreams awaken
This wedding day
Eyes alone for this
Vision bouquet.

She is my daughter
My joy and my pride
I am her Mother,
Mother of the Bride!
