The World's Need

Each morning,
dreaming, awakening,
I put on hope with my nurse's shoes.

Clasping it securely, like a brooch I might choose,
it is the most necessary tool that I use.

Walking through my day, planting a seed,
hope's deep gladness helps feed
the world's need.
