LOVE WITH REASON
True, I don’t show you my love And don’t make promises. True, I don’t praise you sky-high. I tell truth as it is. It’s true that I love you much, But this is also true: I can’t say that in the world, There’s nothing except you. My world has knowledge, wisdom, Feelings and emotions. It has hate, anger, greed, fear And romantic notions. My love for you is quite deep But I can’t truly say That, of you only I think Throughout the night and day. I won’t like to lie to you As we start this friendship. It’s better to know the wine Ere we take the first sip. As I say I do love you, Let me acknowledge this I don’t believe in blind love. Love with reason is bliss. • Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 format. M C Gupta 18 November 2007
