I Will Cause I Can
What a young black girl would do to publish a story.

Me and My Spirit can and we will
I will publish my stories.
I can and I will.
No one can stand between what my spirit wants.
No racist publishing company can stop me.
I have other sources.
I can and I will publish my stories.
I won’t let anyone become the boss of me and take control of my spirit and me.
My stories are my own, to share or not to share.
No one will stand between my dream and me.
I won’t let any company buy my stories to publish as their own.
Cause they’re not.
They’re mine.
There’s no one that can destroy my dream or take it.
’Cause my dream is mine not theirs.
No one can stop me just because I’m a little black girl.
I will publish my stories.
I will, ’cause I can.
