                                            Ghazal 39


Persian:  Sahn e bustan zouq bakhsh o sobat e yaaran khush ast
              Waqt e gul khush baad kaz way waqt e maykhaaran khush ast
Urdu:      Bostan hay zouq bakhsh o sohbat e yaaran hay khush
              Khush ho waqt e gul keh tujh say waqt e maykhaaran hay khush

English:=== Surrounded by flowers with a lovely friend
                  Drinking and dancing it does recommend
                                                      -

Persian:  Az saba her dam mushaam e jaan e ma khush meeshawad
              Aray, aray, teeb e anfaas e hawadaran khush ast
Urdu:      Dam ba dam kisay mehektay haen saba say jaan o dil
              Kis qadar khushboo e anfaas e hawadaaran hay khush

English:=== The morning breeze brings the scent
                  To make the heart and soul content
                                                      -

Persian:  Ta kashooda gul naqaab, aahang e rehlat saaz kard
              Naala kun bulbul keh gulbaang e dilafgaaran khush ast
Urdu;      Gul nay bin chehra dikhaay qasd e rehlat ker lia
              Naala ker bulbul keh gulbaang e dilafgaaran hay khush

English;=== O nightingale, do come and sing
                  The spring will soon be on the wing
                                                        -

Persian:  Murgh e shakhan ra bashaarat baad kander rah e ishq
              Dost ra baa naala e shabha e baedaaran khush ast
Urdu:      Murgh e shabkhan ko bashaarat ho keh rah e ishq maen
              Dost ko yeh naala e shabha e baedaaran hay khush

English:===  And God loves those who're up all night
                    Who seek His mercy and are contrite
                                                          -

Persian:  Gercheh dar baazar e dehr az khushdili juz naam neest
              Shaewa a rindi o khushbaashi e ayyaran khush ast
Urdu:      Khushdili kum hay bohat dunya maen laikin shukr hay
              Shaewa e rindi o khushbaashi e ayyaran hay khush

English:=== The life is short and its joys few
                  So the way of life of a toper pursue

Persian:  Az zabaan e sosan in aawaza am aamad ba goosh
              Kandar in daer e kohan kaar e subukbaaran khush ast
Urdu:      Aaie sosan ki zabaan say kaan maen maersay sada
              Is jahan e peer maen kaar e subukbaaran hay khush

English:=== One night I heard a voice which said
                  "Do not forget you'll soon be dead

Persian:  HAFIZA tark e jahan guftan tareeq e khushdiliest
              Ta na pindaari keh ahwaal e jahandaaran khush ast
Urdu:      Tark e dunya kay badoun HAFIZ naheen milti khushi
              Hay ghalat bilkul keh ahwaal e jahandaaran hay khush
