                                  Dancing with Sanity

The dance began... I had the lead  moving gracefully to the  chime- like music.
silken air swirled round and through us as the
chimes twinkled higher, louder in my ears.
I lowered my head, please not quite so loud please not so fast.

Cold, thin fingers burned into my arms.
Low growls of fear moved inside my chest,  still we danced
Faster, faster gliding across the floor.

My lead I lost, as my view was blurred.
A strange and distant laughter, was it me
    or was it my partner?

Fear wormed up  through my nostrils to my brain with each breath I took
As my partner now pulled me across the cold marble floor?

    Faster and faster.
Realizing the dance would end when my partner chose.
