At Least I Tried
A poem on writing inspired by the 2007 Rugby world cup though I don't like rugby.

Blood and tears I sweat
trying to get something new
from something old;
turning tired clichés
into literary gold:
that's the endeavour.
However, the results tend to fall
somewhat shy.
If only writing were like rugby
and I could be rewarded for a try.
