*Cool* My name is Eiji. I belong to a third generation of Japanese ancestry, born, raised, and living here on the Big Island of Hawaii, also known as *Flower2*The Orchid Isle.*Flower5* The largest island in the Hawaiian Archipelago. On the east side, which is the windy and rainy side of the island, (where I reside), the main city and county seat is the town of Hilo and on the west side, the drier side, the main town is called Kailua-Kona, home to the world renown gourmet coffee, "Kona Coffee". The west side also has many world class resorts with luxurious beaches and golf courses. These two towns are connected, around the island by many quaint plantation towns, that cropped up during the bustling sugarcane industry of a bygone era. An era where there were long hours of hard manual labor, in which my Grandpa and my Father, when he was younger, worked for pennies a day, but still they where happy and thankful. One can still experience the days of old, through the many restored buildings, giving each town their own identity.
The Big Island is also blessed with it's beautiful rainforests, with it's indigenous flora and fauna, found nowhere else in the world, pristine waterfalls surrounded by a shoreline of mostly cliffs and rugged lava beaches. We also have some of the most beautiful black, white, and green olivine sand beaches in the world. With all of our island's beauty, we also have a beautiful but dangerous active volcano which has been erupting now for over a decade, and not too long ago, inundated the world famous Kalapana Black Sand Beach, and hundreds of surrounding homes. We are also prone to earthquakes and tsunamis, but we still love living here in Hawaii. When the climate is right, we also can play in the snow covered peaks of our two taller mountains, *Snow2*Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.*Snow2*I welcome you here with all my island's beauty, so browse, read, review and rate to leave your footprints, so I can follow you home, and review and rate and enjoy your creations...Thanks for stopping by... Domo Arigato Gozai Mashita and Mahalo Nui Loa to you all!...Eiji...*Cool*
