The Author

Of all the jobs I’ll ever do
Writing is the talent
That brings me all I want it to
And be happy with the time I spent

If I want to live with riches
With Prince Charming in a fairy tale
Or if I want to live with the witches
And all my life live so well

If I want to star in a play
Or solve a murder
Or I may want to lay
Under a blanket of fur

I can sing as a dove
And dance with fame
I may find my truest love
Or be a biker dame

I can do all this
From in front of my computer screen
With my words I can give a kiss
To a prince, or I can be a queen

So tonight I may be a living dead
As I read the words around a camper’s flame
Living in the ocean’s bed
But tomorrow I may not be the same

Well I come back
To my world sometimes
To a house that’s packed
To a little girl, and two boys of mine

And tell them
Of all they can do
If they friends with their pin
And they can write their lives too
