                                            Ghazal 46


Persian:  Namidanam dil e bulbul zay ishq e roo e gul chun ast
              Walay dar ghuncha meebeenam, paikanhaash dar khoun ast
Urdu:      Karay ulfat maen gul ki naala bulbul is qadar kuin hay
              Keh hota is kay teer e aah say ghunchay ka dil khoun hay

English:=== When flirting with them the flower curtails
                  It breaks the hearts of the nightingales
                                                    -

Persian:  Ajab baashad keh bulbul ra qaraar o sabr kam gardad
              Reyaheen ra ckun her saat jamaal o husn afzoon ast
Urdu:      Chaman maen jaan e bulbul ko qaraar o sabr ho haisay
              Guloun ka jab keh her saat jamaal o husn afzoon hay

English:=== The peace and patience of lovers decrease
                  As charm and grace of the beauties increase 
                                                      -

Persain:  Nazar kun bar gul e raana keh shakl e o cheh uftaada
              Cheh jurm e bulbul e shaida agar baychaara maftoon ast
Urdu:      Gul e raana kay khud o khal ki zaibaie toe daekho
              Khata bulbul ki kya is maen agar baychaara maftoon hay

English:=== With beautiful girls, so saucy and vain
                  No wonder the lovers go all insane
                                                      -

Persian:  Chun az parda baroon aamad gul, an geh bulbul e miskeen
              Agar dar parda meenaalad, dilash az parda bairoon ast
Urdu:      Wo gul perday say bahar aa gaya hay,bulbul e miskeen
              Daroon e perda naalakash hay, dil perday say bairoon hay

English:=== And beauties whenever they drop their veils
                  Among the lovers sheer madness prevails
                                                      -

Persian:  Agar masti kunad bulbul dar in mousam rawa baashad
              Keh bar her shaakh az gulha hazaaran jaam e maygoon ast
Urdu:      Agar masti karay bulbul toe is mousam maen jaiz
              Bana jab keh gulistanoun maen her gul jaam e matgoon hay

English:=== When flowers are holding the cups of wine
                  Whatever you do in the garden is fine
                                                    -

Persian:  Dar in mousam keh boo e aish az aalam namiaayad
              To khud daani nigaarina, keh haal e aashiqan choon ast
Urdu:      Kaheen say gar na boo e aish aaay mousam e gul maen
              Teray aashiq ka dil aey jaan bohat hota digargoon hay

English:=== At a time like this when all is well
                  It's such a pity if you don't revel
                                                      -

Persian:  Zamaan e ishrat o shaadi keh meejusti ba jaan HAFIZ
              Ghaneemat dan kunun ishrat keh waqt e aish aknoon ast
Urdu:      Zamaan e ishrat o shaadi bohat kam haen zamaanay maen
              Ghaneemat jaan HAFIZ jo be daeta dast e gaerdoon hay
