                                            Ghazal 51


Persian:  Sazad keh az hama e dilberan satani baaj
              Chira keh bar sar e khooban e aalami chu taaj
Urdu:      Yeh dilberan e jahan daewaen kuin na us ko khiraaj
              Wo jab keh ber sar e khooban e aalami hay taaj

English:=== No wonder the beauties pay tribute to her
                  Their queen she is; to her they defer
                                                    -

Persian:  Do chashm e shoukh e to barham zada Khata o Khutan
              Ba cheen e zulf e to Macheen o Hind dada khiraaj
Urdu:      Haen chashm e shoukh say haaray hoay Khata o Khutan
              Khameeda zulf ko daetay haen Cheen o Hind khiraaj

English:=== Her eyes have conquered, Khata, and Khutan
                  Her locks are the rulers of Hindustan
                                                      -

Persian:  Biaz e roo e to roshan chu aariz e khurshid
              Sawaad e zulf e tareektar zay zulmat e daaj
Urdu:      Hay us kay aariz e roshan say aaftaab ko taab
              Siyah zulf say us ki bani hay zulmat e daaj

English:=== Her face is brighter than the sun at noon
                  Her curls ,like clouds, do cover her moon
                                                    -

Persian:  Lab e to Khizr o dahaan e to aab e haiwaanast
              Qad e to sarv o mian e to moo o gardan aaj
Urdu:        Laboun maen lal e Badakhshan, Dahan maen aab e Khizare
                Qad us ka sarv o kamar bay wojud o garden aaj

English:=== Her mouth is the source of life spring
                  Her waist is as thin as a musical string
                                                        -

Persian:  Az in maraz ba haqiqat kuja shafa yabaem 
              Keh az to dard e dil e man namirasad ba ilaaj
Urdu:      Kisi tabib say kis terhah ham ummid rakhaen
              Keh wo bhee ab naheen ker sahta dard e dil ka ilaaj

English:=== The nature of your pain is very obscure
                  Which if she cannot, no one can cure
                                                            -

Persian:  Dahaan e tang e dada ba aab e Khizr baqa
              Lab e chu qand e to burd az nabaat e Misr rivaaj 
Urdu:      Dahaan e tang say us kay mili Khizar ko baqa
              Rakhi hay us kay laboun nay nabaat e Misr ki laaj

English;=== So packed with sugar are her ruby lips
                  That from them, when she talks, the honey drips
                                                          -

Persian:  Chira hamishikani jaan e man zay sangdili
              Dil e zayeef keh hast o ba naazki chu zujaaj
Urdu:      Na toot jaay kaheen, rakh sanbhaal ker is ko
              Bohat zayeef hay, naazuk hay, maeray dil ka zujaaj

English:=== But she can also be very, very tart
                  And break into pieces your dear little heart
                                                        -

Persian:  Fitada dar dil e HAFIZ hawa e chu to shahay
              Kameena banda e khaak e dar e to buday kaaj
Urdu:      Hawa say us sheh e khooban ki, dil maen HAFIZ kay
              Hazaar shah banay haen ghulam jis kay aaj

English:=== For her, O HAFIZ, that you rave and crave
                  You are no more to her than a lowly slave
