AN ODE TO WINTER
O winter, the king of seasons, Dressed in white majestic robe, Spread over the hills and valleys, Wherever the eyes can probe. No wonder that you are labelled As the king of all seasons. That you signify the Christmas, Is just one of the reasons. Humans ought to learn from you the Art of supreme sacrifice You make way for the New Year by Letting melt down all your ice. Maybe it is symbolic that After the summer of life, Winter snow tells us finally ‘It is time to say good bye’. * Written in abcb, 8-7-8-7 format. * Initially written as item no. 767685, which was deleted and replaced by entry no. 346025 in the book Faith, nature & inspirational, "FAITH, NATURE & INSPIRATIONAL" Related poems: WINTER’S WRATH—"WINTER’S WRATH" FALL TRANSITIONING TO WINTER: an acrostic--,"FALL TRANSITIONING TO WINTER: acrostic " M C Gupta 20 Ocober 2003
