I would like to know what you think of this. I wrote while my little girl visited this weekend. I wrote it to tell a story for the new contest about telling a story in the form of a poem. I have never entered any of these contests so let me know.
Thank you

Little Girl’s Visit

Her little girl comes home
To her see her mother
But mom’s heart feels so alone
Because she only plays with her brothers

Mom knows it isn’t right
To feel a little jealous
Of their playing tonight
She’s a little over zealous

Mom asks if she can play
But they give her a look
Mom is too old they say
So mom goes to her favorite book

Then Mom sits on the internet
Listening to her heart in the other room
Playing and laughing leaving her to interpret
Knowing her little girl is leaving soon

So Mom asks her to read
The poem that she wrote for the contest
But her daughter doesn’t listen to her plead
So mom just hopes for the best

Is she being fair
Feeling so very down
Mom knows that little girl cares
For her brothers when she’s around

Does her daughter still
See her mother the way she did
Mom knows she should just chill
But she don’t know when she’ll see her kid

Soon her girl will be with her dad
And mom and the boys
Will be left feeling a little sad
As mom picks up their toys

But maybe next weekend
The boys will visit their father’s home
And the mother and daughter will be friends
Then Mom wont feel so alone

They will wrestle and play
Run and they’ll laugh
Then hopefully the girl will say
“Momma, I love you all of my life”
