Just Say No
Why must everything be A yes or no answer Why not just wait and see What trouble it can stir I can’t seem to get the word Out of my mouth The sound of it - to my brain is absurd It fills my mind with doubt If I say no Who will get mad When their emotions show I want to make them glad By saying yes I have done my due And Conflict is not addressed Then I’m a best friend to you Please don’t judge me For what I can not say This is the only way I know to be And this is how I will stay Someday you’ll understand That I just need to be there Just a helping hand Saying no fills my heart with despair If you think I should say no And the task just stinks There’s something I’ll bestow If you think saying no can make me cry If you think it will You give the task a try And then tell me how it feels Ida Matilda Wright 2/15/07
