where I come to dream
love's sudden demise, an unwanted winter surprise

quiet snowfall beyond the silent windows
a new season of memories before the fireplace
delicate laughter while burning marshmallows
I finally kiss the warm glow on your radiant face

you left the room, for a brief moment, promising more
than my dreams, a life with the one I adore
fearing to wake you, I left you alone to slumber
not knowing I was no longer your safe harbor

in eternal peace, whiteness covers everything now
in a sort of tomb before springtime's return
and in the cemetery lit by our love’s dim lanterns

I search among the willows of snow-laden bough
your gilded name, frozen deep beneath a marble stone
where I come to dream of never being alone

where I come to dream
