Humanity Past, Present and Future
Thoughts on Humanity

We are
genetically
a single multi-hued
species, a planetary tree,
citizens of the Earth,
the planet’s soul,
human.

Sisters
and brothers, one
world wide family, our
roots and our ancestors bones found
in the Great Rift Valley,
in Africa -
our past.

We call
our colors race,
our God by many names
and claim for each name a goddess
or god; we fight over
differences – our
present.

We fear
for our future
and ourselves because of
the present state of world conflict;
labor pains announce the
birth of a new
culture.

A world
free of war where
humans are the leaves of
one tree, the citizens of Earth
who pray to God’s thousand
plus names as one
title.

This is
our tomorrow,
called utopian by
some, a time when humanity
a mature species is
united – our
future.
