I HAD ONCE LOST ALL HOPE
Losing hope and regaining it.

I HAD ONCE LOST ALL HOPE

I had once lost all hope and was
On the brink of breakdown.
I was alone and knew not a
Single soul in the town.

I was hungry, old and infirm,
Had pain in every part.
But more than that I did harbour
A constant ache in heart.

My own had all forsaken me,
Though I gave them my all.
None was there but to hold my hand
When I had met a fall.

It was then that I heard a voice:
“Son, don’t be so forlorn.
I am there with you all the time.
No you are not alone.

Did not they give Me pain and hurt?
Did not they break My heart?
Did not My own forsake Me when
Up the hill I did start?

Just as my Father calmed Me when
I was nailed to the cross,
So shall I bless you with My grace.
I’ll make up all your loss”.
